Kewaunee is located on Lake Michigan and nestled 30 miles south of Door County and 30 miles east of Green Bay. With Kewaunee’s population just under 3000 people, Kewaunee is a quiet and picturesque community that offers different seasonal activities for the young and old alike. Experience some of the best deep water fishing on Lake Michigan, take a stroll through the Marquette Historic District, or simply relax on the quiet beach and picturesque harbor area. The more active may seek to bike, hike or go horseback riding on The Ahnapee State Trail – a rails-to-trails project that connects all the major Kewaunee County communities with Door County. The Kewaunee River is a great opportunity for kayaking and canoeing as well. Kewaunee is independent, and businesses here are proud to be primarily locally-owned and operated. If you want a genuine local experience, you will find it here in lodging, entertainment and family-run restaurants. Please come and be our guest! You may never want to leave.
Did you ever wonder what life was like in the pioneer days when the early settlers arrived here with horses and wagons? Why not find out? On June 9-11, a wagon train group, known as History on the Move will be traveling through Kewaunee County.
From 2005 to 2015 all of our participants were treated to a fantastic scenic ride through Northeastern Wisconsin’s most beautiful byways. In 2016, this great tradition continues!
Kewaunee is a wonderful corner in the world. The historic homes and buildings, the friendly, helpful people, the community involvement make it a truly unique place.Mario Micheli
The way the Kewaunee area community supports local businesses and organizations means that folks here care about each other. When you have that, you have a chance to build something really special. Communities that have that kind of unity are positive and uplifting places to live and work.Jim Smidel
I became involved in The Chamber because I saw a wonderful town and community that has for too long been something of a secret. I think everyone here would love to reach out to visitors, new residents and new businesses. The Chamber is an organization that can help do just that.Pam Harkema
Kewaunee is the kind of place that just feels like home. The family atmosphere and community pride are reflected in just about everything you see and experience here. Being a member of The Chamber means that I am promoting and preserving that culture.John Pagel
