2009 Offshore Challenge Rules and Registration Form

Dear Tournament Angler:

As I’m sure most people will agree the last year has been a crazy ride in a lot of ways. Politically, economically, and even in the fishing it has been different to say the least. So the tournament committee considered all of that when getting ready for this years annual Kewaunee Trout Festival Offshore Challenge. We wanted to make it fun for everyone, keep the entry fees low, and make it so everyone can compete. The rules have been thought out very well so there were only a couple of changes to be made. They are as follows:

· We have eliminated the rule allowing only three people per boat. The amount of people on a boat really hasn’t affected the outcome and we want to encourage as many people to fish this as possible. You will still only be able to run 9 lines though.

· We are not going to vote on whether to fish or not based on the weather. We will instead rely on whether or not the Coast Guard has issued a Small Craft Advisory. The committee will review that and then decide whether to postpone, delay or cancel the tournament. This decision will be based knowing that there are a variety of boat sizes and we must keep this tournament fun and safe for everyone.

· The rule meeting has been moved to 7P.M. on Friday to make it easier for everyone to make it there.

· We have kept all the payouts the same but added a couple of things for this year. There will be the normal cash payouts for 1st-10th place in the tournament and 1st and 2nd place in the big fish. There will be a lure package from Bugsy’s Baits for the 11th place boat. There will also be a tackle package valued at over $300 for the biggest fish caught on a Big Weenie Brand Product. You must be entered in the big fish contest to win this one.

· There also will be door prizes. We have had a lot of support from all the sponsors and have raised almost $2000 worth of stuff that will be given away in addition to the payouts. These will be given out in a drawing after the weigh in.

Please make an effort to support all the sponsors because they have been a big help in making this happen. If you have any questions either email Kyle Wogsland or call the Kewaunee Area Chamber of Commerce at 1-800-666-8214.

Sincerely,
